As I was too bored/tired/hungry/yes,hungry to go out for something too boring/expansive after our triumphant temporary transfer in Florence, last nite mii and Mr. Peets, lovely husband, decided to go on a movie.

Blockbuster is just paradisiac if you’re bleeding for some rotten junk food BUT the movies’ selection gosh it just hurts!

Marshmellows, such an heavenly way to die!

Have to say I’m not that kind of slag that goes through the shelving with the Know-it-all and Know-it-better bitchy eyes… so I know that sometimes blockbusters movies are cool enough for a flipping freezing nite downtown.

Went for a 1996 Polanski Cul de sac (course nutting to report, I’m easily played along by BB), out with Eyre’s Notes on a scandal.
Since I have no time to go to the cinema during the week I have to manage my choice between a lot of catchy titles.

Yesterday the lucky chosen one was “Notes on a scandal”.

Philip Glass, marry me! Please. I Know you are a septuagenarian, but want to remark how much a lovely septuagenarian you are? eheh. Could enjoy your music worth the pain to see your varicose veins. Thank you bloody much.

Judy Dench’s performance is the main attraction in this predatory psychodrama. To say the truth the entire cast is strong under director Eyre. He showers Blanchett with luminous light and the actress, to her enormous credit, does not play “beautiful.” Dench, Blanchett and Nighy make you say: hey, this is the real deal. This is first class acting.
The male-dominated media is astonished when a good-looking, young female teacher – sometimes a gorgeous blond one – has sex with a 15 year old boy. No one seems to understand why. Not even psychotherapists offer much insight except the short-rope “bad daddy” excuse. I’m going to explain it – it’s the overwhelming scent of just awakened, untamed male testosterone. Fourteen year old males go around smelling females and send out a powerful sexual intensity that some women unwisely cannot resist. I’m not saying I condone it… I’ll just quote Chris Rock on OJ Simpson: “I’m not saying he should have killed her. But I understand.”

ahahha.

Anyway. I loved the movie and the soundtrack is just amazing.

For those who are sleepy just like me and havent yet seen it, superrecommended!

This lad do have a great sense of auto-irony as, after our drunken pressures, he’s twitting his own silly backing vocals on everydayIloveyoulessandless Kaiser Chiefs hit.

E allora siamo in semifinale il 22 novembre, nessuno se lo aspettava, anche se alla fine dei concerti spaventosamente eccellenti di tutte le band in concorso, sembravamo i superfav, a detta anche dei cari OZENA , giunti per l’occasione.

E c’è da dire che non è nemmeno la cosa più eccitante della giornata di ieri, che decolla solo dopo la solita RedBull da trasferta Ties. La mattinata passa lenta davanti allo schermo del piccì, che sembro sotto acido e invece sono solo sotto tesi.

Il nuovo acquisto Frankosterone era in gran spolvero, più del solito, nevvero, e oltre alle ultrasprecatesperticate lodi alla sua tecnica, devo solo aggiungere che questo cazzo di ragazzo è talmente aneddotico che quasi mi commuovo.

Credo di non aver smesso di ridere un attimo ieri, e non avevo nemmeno preso le mie droghe.

La giornata di sole e freddo era così bella che ha accentuato di gran lunga l’effetto della RedBull sugarfree che è una vera sòl@… dico, rispetto alla versione allinclusive. E io ho pensato ad Annalì che dice sempre che l’inverno è la stagione più bella, tutta cioccolata calda e camino acceso e davvero non mi veniva in mente un solo argomento valido per smentirla.

La macchina era poi una specie di partita a Tetris vinta in partenza (scommetto che neanche il mitico Алексей Пажитнов, talvolta il cognome viene traslitterato con Pajitnov, o Pazhitnov, ideatore del gioco più famoso al mondo dopo il nascondino e la prostituzione), con me e Pi costretti a copulare nel retrobottega, ovviamente senza precauzioni tanto la chitarra di Frank gli aveva spappolato la prostata all’altezza di Roncobilaccio (si ricorda, per correttezza e completezza dell’informazione, che una prostata umana in buona salute ha le dimensioni di una grossa castagna).

Io ho scoperto di aver scoperto troppo tardi Morrissey, e ogni sua canzone che sento entra immediatamente nella mia top 100 annuale o nella mia top 5 settimanale.

Mattydj alla fine ha fatto un figurone e chi ha fatti cantare come dei cretini tutti quanti, soprattutto su BasketCase che, come tutti sappiamo, è la canzone che ha fatto prendere in mano più chitarre al mondo.

Ha! I love this indierocknewwavebritpop definition. Especially when they speak about those bass lines.

So, we won the first round and now head to the semi-finals (nov. 22). Nobody could have told, except for our mates Ozena (oh, what a super band they are).

However, winning the competition is just the smaller bit of a extraordinary day, which takes off only after my RedBull (thetiesandthelies official on the road soft drink). The morning goes by slowly in front of the computer screen, just like I’m on acid or something.

Our new member Frank gives his 120% not only on stage. I must say this guy’s got so many numbers I go nuts. We laugh during all the way there and back and I manage to be happy even without my drugs.

Annalì always says winter’s the best season. You know, the hot chocolate and the fireplace and I couldn’t help but agree on that yesterday, when the air was cold and clear and sparkling.

Into the car we’re packed just like flipping sardines and the gear is loaded tetris-ly. I swear, just one more sandwich and the whole thing would have gone off like a bomb. We work it out with me and Pi jumping on one another in the back seats (hey, it’s just to save some room).

Matty (drummer, dj) plugs his iPod and we start a 200-kms-long singalong over MOrrisey and The Smiths, Oasis (of course), Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, The stone Roses and (shame on us) Green Day. Every day I think I love Morrisey more. I’m just sad I discovered him too late. Oh well. Whatever.

On the way back we stop on the road for a sandwich and a coffee (matty has a orange juice, frank a piece of cake, a coffee and another piece of cake, Pi buys a large-ass bag of sour cream and onion chips and me, well, a trip to the toilette). We are sweaty and terribly dressed (untied ties, short sleeves under mixed coats…) and people stare at us like we’re just landed from Mars.

I’m sorry about this lo-fi translation to English. I discovered I find it harder to switch a post from Italian to English than writing one in English itself. It’s almost impossible, I guess, to communicate the same thoughts in languages that are so different. Gosh.
